Arthur M. Bethel


Arthur M. Bethel, 89, resident of the Walton Home, Barnesville, died Thursday morning, February 19th at Barnesville Hospital. He was born in Flushing, June 6, 1880, a son of John and Jemima White Bethel. His wife, Campsie McWilliams Bethel, preceded him in death in 1953.

He was a member of the Bethesda Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Gladys) Stewart of Freeport and Mrs. Donald (Blanche) Smith of Norfolk, Va., one son, Kenneth of Clarksburg, WVa.; one brother, Oakley of Orlando, Florida and one sister, Mrs. Charley Caldwell of Columbiana, Ohio; two grandsons, two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.

Friends were received at the Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home on North Chestnut Street where funeral services were held Sunday, February 22nd at 1:30 p.m., conducted by the Reverend Garry Ballard. Interment was made in Rock Hill Cemetery, near Flushing.
