Campsie McWilliams Bethel


Mrs. Campsie Bethel laid to rest Sunday

Mrs. Campsie McWilliams Bethel, a lifelong resident of Flushing and Hendrysburg passed away at the Martin’s Ferry Hospital, Friday morning, October 30. Services were held Sunday afternoon at the Flushing Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. David Newell. Arrangements were made by Romach-Warren Funeral Service, and burial was made in Rock Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Bethel was a daughter of the late Wilson and Elizabeth Perkins McWilliams, and was born August 12, 1879. In 1901 she was married to Arthur Bethel of Flushing who survives her. Other survivors are three children, Mrs. Gladys Stewart of Freeport, Mrs. Blanche Smith of Norfolk, Va., and Kenneth Bethel of Clarksburg; one sister, Mrs. Eva Murphy of Barnesville; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
