Russell "Banjo" Clark


BETHESDA — Russell “Banjo” Clark, 68, of Belmont, died Thursday at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, W.Va.

He was born June 25, 1932, in Neffs, son of the late Eugene and Mabel (Mace) Clark.

Mr. Clark worked at the former Y&O Coal Co. and retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation at Morristown. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in the Korean War.

He was a Protestant by faith.

He leaves his wife, Ada (Williams) Clark; a daughter, Sherry Byers of Flushing; five sons, Ivan Schlernitzauer of St. Clair, Mich., Russell Clark of Belmont, Robert Clark of Bethesda, and Jim and David Clark, both of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mamie Lykins, Credella Shriver, Elizabeth Kelly, Mabel McClurg, Blanche Armstrong and Esther Daily; five brothers, Robert, Charles, Eugene, Elroy and Leroy Clark.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 nd 7 to 9 p.m. today at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, Bethesda, where services will be 11 a.m. Saturday with Bud Burke officiating.

Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda.
