Frank E. Damsel


Frank E. Damsel, 67, 700 Bond Ave., Barnesville, died Sat., Sept. 12, 1987 at University Hospital, Columbus. He was born in Barnesville June 3, 1920, a son of the late Paul and Margaret Burkhart Damsel.

The former owner-operator of the Damsel Ice Cream Company of Barnesville, he was a certified public accountant; member of the board of trustees of Barnesville First Presbyterian Church and Barnesville Hospital.

Mr. Damsel was a director of the First National Bank of Barnesville; member of Barnesville Elks Lodge 1699, Seneca Sportsmen's Club, Masonic Lodge 496 F & AM of Martins Ferry, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge and Columbus, Aladdin Temple of Columbus, American Legion Post 888 of Columbus, National Rifle Assoc., Photographic Society of America; and a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Mabel Lee Damsel; two daughters, Mrs. John (Paula) Robinson of Yorktown Heights, N.Y. and Denise Whaley of Columbus; and a granddaughter, Johanna Robinson.

Services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home with Dr. Richard Eshler officiating. Burial was made in Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville.
