James L. Dyer


BARNESVILLE — James L. Dyer, 67, of Barnesville, died Monday at Barnesville Hospital.

He was born June 13, 1933, in Barnesville, son of Bernice Miller Dyer of Barnesville and the late William Dyer.

Mr. Dyer was a retired construction worker. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Barnesville American Legion Post 168.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Williams) Dyer; a sister, Velma Burkhart; and a brother, Robert Dyer.

He leaves a daughter, Crystal Dyer Collins; two grandchildren, Cameron and Joshua Collins, all of Hanoverton; three sisters, Helen Carpenter, Peggy Carpenter and Connie Skinner, all of Barnesville; two brothers, Thomas Dyer of San Diego, Calif., and Pat Dyer of Minerva.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, Barnesville, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Bartley Funeral Home, Minerva, with services to follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rick Lautzenheiser officiating.

Burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens, Minerva.
