James L. Fisher


BARNESVILLE — James L. Fisher, 92, of Barnesville, died Saturday at Barnesville Hospital.

He was born May 31, 1908, in Belmont County, a son of the late Alfonso and Lillian Openshaw Fisher.

He was a retired farmer and former employee of Akron Rubber Company and a member of Bethel Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Rolland Loo, Harold Lewis and John Richard Fisher; four sisters, Golden Starr, Merle Allman, Bernice Lambert and Martha Twinem; and a brother, Robert Fisher.

He leaves a son, Nelson Fisher of Clarington; five daughters, Mrs. Karl (Betty) Deafenbaugh of Beaver Falls, Pa., Ethel Bahmer of Barnesville, Mrs. John (Blanche) Jerig of Zanesville, Mrs. Don (Sally) Mehler of Salesville and Mrs. Paul (Mary Kay) Mathena of Helen, Ga.; 27 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home in Barnesville, where services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Dale Epple officiating.

Burial will be in Somerton Southern Cemetery in Somerton.
