Dorothy (Smith) Gossett


BETHESDA — Dorothy (Smith) Gossett, 80, of Bannock, died Sunday (Sept. 17, 2000) at East Ohio Regional Medical Hospital, Martins Ferry.

She was born June 12, 1920, in Bannock, daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Carlisle) Smith.

Mrs. Gossett was a retired postmaster at Bannock post office and a member of Bannock United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Clyde and William Smith; three sisters, Virginia Debertrand, Mary Devault and Sara Hinkle.

She leaves her husband, J. Lyle Gossett; a son, John Gossett of Bannock; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, Bethesda, and also from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Ken Kelley will officiate.

Burial will be in Morristown Union Cemetery.
