Howard P. Garrett


BARNESVILLE — Howard P. Garrett, 60, of Piedmont, died Friday (April 13, 2001) at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, W.Va.

He was born May 7, 1940, in Akron, son of the late Vernon L. and Mary (Butler) Garrett.

Mr. Garrett retired from Akron Children’s Hospital, where he served in the security department.

He was a member of the Ohio Army National Guard, and belonged to St. Matthias Catholic Church, Freeport.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Grand Knight of Assumption Council and Barnesville Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Vern Garrett.

He leaves his wife, Lois A. (Menhorn) Garrett; three nephews, Brian, Greg and Todd Garrett all of Akron; a niece, Michelle Pribonec of Akron; a sister-in-law, Marlene Garrett of Akron; great-nieces and -nephews.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, Barnesville. Christian wake service will be 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthias Catholic Church, Freeport, with the Rev. Father Thomas Chillog officiating.

Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens, Cuyahoga Falls.
