Miles Stanley "Jiggs" Gibbons


BARNESVILLE — Miles Stanley “Jiggs” Gibbons, 79, of St. Clairsville, formerly of Barnesville, died Thursday at Park Health Center, St. Clairsville.

He was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Jerusalem, son of the late Irvy and Lettie (Stills) Gibbons.

Mr. Gibbons was a Protestant by faith.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Lawrence, Earl, Russell, Donald and Homer Gibbons; and a sister, Edith Gibbons.

He leaves three sisters, Mary Costello and Janet Whiteley, both of Barnesville, and Bernice Loper of Massillon; a brother, Lesser “Archie” Gibbons of Barnesville; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, Barnesville, where services will be 1 p.m. Sunday.

Burial will be in Somerton Cemetery.
