Vera E. (Gibbons) Grey


BARNESVILLE — Vera E. (Gibbons) Grey, 89, of Barnesville, died Wednesday (April 4, 2001) at Barnesville Hospital.

She was born April 29, 1911, in Belmont, daughter of the late Robert and Anna (Morris) Gibbons.

Mrs. Grey retired from the former Jonathan Logan Clothing Factory of Barnesville and was a member of First Christian Church of Barnesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Virgil” Grey; a daughter, Jean Wilson; a brother, Robert Gibbons; and two sisters, Helen Ford and Esther Lucas.

She leaves a son, Virgil (Sonny) Grey of Bethesda; a daughter, Sheila Hoskinson of Canton; a step-daughter, Irene Cowgill of Barnesville; two sisters, Jean Harris and Auddie Price, both of Barnesville; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, Barnesville, where services will be 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Edward Eberhart officiating.

Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville.
