James M. Hartley


James M. Hartley, 73, of Flushing, died Friday in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, W.Va. He was born March 6, 1916 in Morgantown, W.Va., a son of the late Samuel M. and Essie Armstrong Hartley.

He was a retired mechanic for Consolidation Coal Co., Cadiz, a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 366, Masonic Lodge F&AM 298, all of Flushing, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, and an Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by one brother; three sisters.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Ilene Huff Hartley; a daughter, Judith Workley of Freeport Oh., a brother, Kenneth of Orange, Texas; three sisters, Kathryn Hartley of Morgantown, W.Va., and Mrs. Frank (Mary Irene) Wiland and Jane Cashman, both of Aiken, S.C.; four grand-daughters; seven great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received today, 3 to 9 p.m. at the Warren Funeral Home, Flushing, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday with Rev. Dale Thomas officiating. Burial follows in Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing. Masonic services will be held today at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
