Amanda Linn

Mrs. Amanda Linn, wife of Mr. Frank Linn, of this place, occurred at her home in the southeast part of town, Tuesday noon, after a protracted illness from consumption. Mrs. Linn was a noble christian woman, and through all the pain and suffering that she was called upon to bear, she was ever patient and happy, and ready to do all she could for those about her. For weeks her sick room has been, as it were, illuminated by the sunlight of heaven, and her soul filled to overflowing with the joy that passeth understanding. She talked constantly of her departure as calmly as if she were going on a visit, and each day as she bade her friends good-by or good-night, she assured them that if she should be gone when they came again, she wanted to meet them in the better land. Funeral services will be held Thursday, conducted by Dr. C.E. Manchester. The remains will be taken to Ebenezer for interment. The bereaved husband, whose home in now left desolate, has the sympathy of our people in the loss of his noble wife. The deceased was a sister of Mr. Erastus Tolbert, of this place, and a daughter of the late John Tolbert, of Bethesda. She leaves a number of worthy brothers and sisters to mourn her departure
