Marie S. Landefeld


BARNESVILLE — Marie S. Landefeld, 106, of Barnesville, died Monday at the home of her grandson.

She was born Feb. 3, 1895, in Monroe County, daughter of the late Isadore and Emma (Curry) Shuman.

Mrs. Landefeld was one of the founders of the Barnesville Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of Ladies of the Moose and Rebekah Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert J. Landefeld; a brother, Roy Shuman; three sisters, Delta Shuman, Hilda Enoc and Dorothy Long; a granddaughter, Shelva Gibbons; a great-grandson, Todd Wehr.

She leaves a daughter, Eleanor L. Hughes of Quaker City; four grandchildren, Joe Hughes of Barnesville, Sandra Learner of Columbus, and Arlene Wehr and Rick Allen Hughes, both of Quaker City; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, Barnesville, where services will be 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Norman Grimes officiating.

Burial will be in Miltonsburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Barnesville Senior Citizens Center Building Fund.
