William Oscar "Yank" Lee


Morristown Man, William O. Lee, Long Ill, Dies

William Oscar (Yank) Lee, retired huckster and grocery store operator at Morristown, died Wednesday night, May 8 at 10 o'clock at his home following an illness of the past two and a half years. Mr. Lee was 80 years of age. He was born near Morristown, on June 10, 1882, a son of John and Ella Taylor Lee. He was a member of the Morristown Methodist Church and Kirkwood Lodge No. 446 F & AM. His wife, Anna Medley Lee preceded him in death in 1949.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Elsie Major, Mrs. Martha Barbe, Mrs. Lorell Wilhelm all of Morristown, Mrs. Bertha Pettigrew of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Emma Calmbacher of St. Clairsville, Mrs. Mabel Damsel of Barnesville three sons, Albert Lee of Barnesville, Charles and Dick Lee of Morristown; six grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Estella Wesley of Hendrysburg, Mrs. Nellie Bowles of Columbus, Mrs. Viola Ault of Newark and Mrs. Faye Rowley of Morristown.

Friends were received at the Barr-Milner Funeral Home in Morristown, where final rites were held Saturday afternoon at 2 (DST). Rev. Donald DeVoe and Rev. Lester Farmer officiated and burial was made in the Morristown Union Cemetery. Masonic services were held Friday evening at 7:30 (DST) at the funeral home.
