Erma McWilliams


Mrs. McWilliams Dies at 97, Rites Tuesday.

Mrs. Erma McWilliams, one of Belmont County's oldest residents, and mother of the late W.H. ( Hi Waters) McWilliams, veteran newspaper feature writer and reporter; died Sunday at 1:45 a.m. at a Morristown Nursing Home at the age of 97.

She was born Oct. 13, 1868, at Newton Iowa, and had resided at Morristown, for the past 75 years. She was a member of the Morristown Methodist Church.

Her husband, Wilbur McWilliams died in 1925 and her son W. H. McWilliams died in 1957. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Pearle McWilliams of Wheeling, a grandson, Clifford L. McWilliams; managing editor of the Intelligencer; also of Wheeling; four great-grandchildren.

Friends are being received at the Barr-Milner Funeral Home, Morristown where services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. (DST) by Rev. Lester Farmer. Burial in the Morristown Union Cemetery.
