Terry Mowrey


ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Terry Mowrey, 56, of St. Clairsville, died Wednesday (April 18, 2001) at his home.

He was born Oct. 8, 1944, in Neffs, son of the late Herman and A. Katherine Lynn Mowrey.

Mr. Mowrey was a retired teacher. He served as a former athletic director and coach for Beallsville, Meadowbrook and St. Clairsville schools.

He was a graduate of West Virginia University, where he was Southern Conference champion of the pole vault. He earned a master’s degree in secondary administration from Xavier University.

He was OVAC Track “Coach of the Year” for Meadowbrook High School. He was a former athletic director and assistant football and assistant track coach for St. Clairsville.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Ann Wasco.

He leaves his wife, Carol Wasco Mowrey; a daughter, Mrs. Rob (Jennifer) Fischer of Kent; a son, Jeff (Stefanie) Mowrey of Knoxville, Tenn.; two brothers, Herman and Sidney Mowrey, all of San Gabriel, Calif.; a granddaughter; his father-in-law, Ed Wasco of West Bellaire.

Calling hours and services were in St. Clairsville.

Burial was in Belmont Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
