Blanche Bethel Smith


Norfolk -- Mrs. Blanche Bethel Smith, 62, of 118 Glendale Ave., the wife of Donald L. Smith and a daughter of Arthur M. and Mrs. Campsie McWilliams Bethel, died in a hospital Thursday at 5 a.m.

A native of Flushing, Ohio, she lived here 32 years.

She was a member of Glenwood Park Presbyterian Church and it’s Eichelberger Bible Class and an honorary life member of Women of the Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Donald Arthur Smith of Virginia Beach a brother, Kenneth Byron Bethel of Parkersburg, W.Va.: a sister, Mrs. Gladys Bethel Stewart of Freeport, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Adolf Otersen Jr. of Glenwood Park Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
