Margaret Logan Talbott
Former Resident Dies on Visit Here
Barnesville was greatly shocked Wednesday morning when it was learned that Mrs. Walter Talbott, at one time a resident of this city, who, had come Tuesday evening for a short visit, had died very suddenly at 9 o'clock the same evening.
Mrs. Talbott had accompanied her sister, Mrs. E. S. Ely, and niece, Mrs. Ely Bradfield, of Winchester, to Barnesville for a visit, and she herself had planned to go on to Cambridge and Akron on business, and to see friends there. She was staying with her niece, Miss Emma Talbott of East Church Street, and feeling tired from her long trip had decided to retire early. Sitting on the bed, and still chatting with her niece, she fell over dead. The remains were taken to the Campbell Funeral Home, and Campbells left Wednesday noon for Winchester to take the remains to the Jones Funeral Home there.
Mrs. Talbott had had a heart condition for some years, but had continued an active, busy life, spending more and more time helping others. She had been a very beautiful young woman, and had kept much of her beauty and charm. Mrs. Talbott was the former Margaret Logan Wood, a daughter of Daniel and Miriam Nichols Wood. She was born in Frederick County, Virginia, and her early life and the last twenty or more years of her life had been spent there.
After her marriage to Walter Roe Talbott of Barnesville, they made their home here for a number of years, and while living in Barnesville their son Daniel, was born, and died in infancy. They then moved to Akron where they spent many years and where Mr. Talbott was very successful in real estate and law After his retirement they returned to Winchester. Mr. Talbott died a number of years ago. Mrs. Talbott is survived by a daughter, Miriam, of the home, and two sisters, Miss Mary Wood of Millbank, and Mrs. E. S. Ely of Winchester, also by a number of nieces and nephews.
